The role of Secretary on the Executive Committee of The Camberley Society has been split into two. We now have an Administration Secretary - to handle administration! - but we are currently looking for a second person to help plan the agendas for the committee, and to keep a brief record of the resulting discussions. Planning the agenda is the more important part of this role, since it prioritises the work of the Society. It requires someone who cares sufficiently about Camberley to be able, with the chairman, to identify challenges and opportunities that the Society might tackle, and to focus progress. ---- The Society issues three newsletters each year. (A sample newsletter can be found elsewhere on this site.) The previous Newsletter Editor recently retired from the post after many years' service, and a replacement is being sought. The role involves coordinating contributions to the newsletter that have been written by others, and checking that these are consistent with each other. The Editor is welcome to provide a covering editorial, though this is not essential, before passing the contributions on so that they can be laid out in a suitable format. The Editor liaises with a local print room to print the resulting newsletter, whose distribution is managed by other members of the Society. ---- If you would like to know more about either of these two vacancies, do please contact the Society |
